Goodbye 2014

The year 2014 approaches an end. This year has proven to be a very blessed year for me. When I look back, it just looks like yesterday when I started attending Preston University and wrote a blog. I know I should have written more often but I think the previous one came very naturally. One of my teachers who actually read my blog told me it looked like a personal diary. Now when I come to think of it, a blog is actually an online version of one's personal diary or journal. To be honest I never kept a diary growing up. The only diary I was familiar with was my 'homework diary', which was usually put to use as a spare notebook from which one take a leaf out every now and then, One year I had a particularly thick notebook for a homework diary ( which I later used for two more academic years ) on which we used to play tick tack toe.
Well not be sidetracked lets talk about our university. In the years 2011-2013 I was struggling as a young student since I shifted from Cambridge Examination System to the local BISE Lahore. The examination techniques here at the BISE Lahore are very different than at Cambridge. Instead of testing a students abilities in a particular field of study the system is entirely based on rote learning ( which I was never good at ) . Well long story short I flunked the first attempt of my intermediate examinations. Well I passed the supplementary examinations and I was taken in the welcoming and warm arms of Preston University on a breezy February evening. In the university where the testing schemes were familiar to me I performed quite well mirroring my Fsc result, making my parents proud and making me feel good about life again. I was able to ensure a grade point average of 3.1 in the spring semester, the mishap being the cause of the low GPA ( fell off a bench and hurt my arms the night before the paper ). But I proved my worth in the summer semester securing a grade point average of 4.0.
The summers were tough but the winter is proving to be even tougher, the chilly morning are proving to be pretty hard on the students of Preston University where the winter holidays weren't announce until earlier today. Well as the degree program progresses the courses are gonna get harder giving the students lesser time to fool about and to focus on the courses. The Fall semester is coming to an abrupt end I wish it had gone a bit longer.
Good luck with your exams everyone and happy holidays.
